"The Art of Play": An Introduction to Theatre

Mondays 4:15-5:30 January 20-April 28 2025
This class is geared toward Youth ages 8-11 that have in interest in theatre but have little or no experience.
The Objective:
Students will demonstrate the understanding that theatre is the art of telling stories through acting, and how observing the world around you is the first step to becoming a great actor.
Each class will focus on different areas from Ensemble work, movement, character development, Focus/Concentration, Objectives and tactics and utilizing their voice. Each class will cultivate to a final class of putting it all together. End of the semester students will have a grasp of the art of play.
Please Note: Class is limited to 10 students.
Class Time: Mondays 4:15-5:30pm
Class Fee: $255.00

Introduction to Stagecraft

Tuesday 3:30-5:30 January 14-April 29 2025
This class is geared toward Youth ages 12-18 that have in interest in the tech side of theatre.
The Objective:
Students will demonstrate the understanding of what it takes to design create and build props and set pieces for a production and that takes many people to produce a wonderful show.
Class will begin with the reading of the script "The Almost Totally True Story of Hansel and Gretel" and then the fun begins! All props and set stuff build in class will be used in the Homeschool and SLPjr production of "The Almost Totally True Story of Hansel and Gretel"
Please Note: Class is limited to 10 students.
Class Time: Tuesdays 3:30-5:30pm

This class is geared toward Youth ages 12-18 that that love theatre and have experience and want to better their craft.
The Objective:
Students will have a better grasp of creating a character and scene work. Class ends with two free performances of a One Act.
