George, a professor at a small college, and his wife, Martha, have just returned home, drunk from a Saturday night party. Martha announces, amidst general profanity, that she has invited a young couple—an opportunistic new professor at the college and his shatteringly naïve new bride—to stop by for a nightcap. When they arrive the charade begins. The drinks flow and suddenly inhibitions melt. It becomes clear that Martha is determined to seduce the young professor, and George couldn’t care less. But underneath the edgy banter, which is crossfired between both couples, lurks an undercurrent of tragedy and despair. George and Martha’s inhuman bitterness toward one another is provoked by the enormous personal sadness that they have pledged to keep to themselves: a secret that has seemingly been the foundation for their relationship. In the end, the mystery in which the distressed George and Martha have taken refuge is exposed, once and for all revealing the degrading mess they have made of their lives.

Amber Ryan developed a love for the performing arts at an early age and believes magic happens in the theater.  She has worked on Theater, Film, TV, Industrial and both local and national Commercial projects.  Five years ago, she walked into Stage Left Productions for the first time.  She met Cody, auditioned for Steel Magnolias and landed the role of Truvy.  The rest, as they say, is history!  Her recent roles at Stage Left have been: Nora in A Doll’s House Part 2, which earned her an AriZoni nomination, Lenny in Crimes of the Heart, Mrs. Van Dann in The Diary of Anne Frank, and Charlie in Always a Bridesmaid. She would like to thank Cody and Rodney for giving her a theater home and family.  And to Matt, “I would not be who am I am today without your love and support!”

Eric Schoen is glad to return to Stage Left Productions for his 5th show. Previous roles include Anthony (Outside Mullingar), Elliot (The Country House), Father (The Giver). Recent directing credits include: Tuesdays with Morrie and Brighton Beach Memoirs (Desert Stages). Coming up, he’ll direct Blithe Spirit (Starlight Community Theater) and The Curious Savage (Sun City Grand). He started and ran his own theatre company, Class 6 Theatre, for seven years here in the Valley, producing almost 30 events for local audiences. He's been a proud adjudicator for ASU's HSMTA program at valley high schools for many years. Before settling out west, he spent a long time making a living as an actor and dancer around the country. He's also written six books, all available on Amazon. Thank you for supporting local theatre!

GinaKay Howell (HONEY)

GinaKay Howell is absolutely thrilled to be making her Arizona premiere at Stage Left. She’s been on stage her whole life acting, singing, and dancing. She has been featured in “Avenue Q,” “American Idiot,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Hand to God,” and MANY more from the West to East Coast! She feels so honored to be working alongside her incredible cast. She’d like to thank the whole Virginia Woolf production team for giving her the opportunity, to the cast and crew for their hard work, and to her family and friends here and away supporting her. She dedicates her performance to her wonderful husband, Michael, and her Mother who drove all the way to see her perform again!
